I really liked Joyce's column on why a "womens" film festival. It is so important and seems so obvious to me, but every year the concept of a separate festival gets questioned or even attacked. I am looking forward to reading posts on this blog as an exciting addition to the festival this year!

It's me again. Am I not posting to the right spot? Or am I just talking to myself? What did folks think of Persepolis? I found it moving and pessimistic. Patti Whalen has been bringing Afghan women judges to Brattleboro for the past several years. I admire their courage and hope for their (and the world's) future, but I feel very sad and apprehensive for them (and us and everyone)... Persepolis made me feel similar emotions...

Jeannie, glad to have your comments. Bear with us, this is new for the festival and word hasn't quite gotten out yet.
I'd imagine once the festival proper starts tomorrow, there will be more action here.
